by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

Evie Clair made it to the America’s Got Talent finals and dedicated every performance to her sick father, Amos Abplanalp.

Unfortunately, on September 7, 2017, Amos passed away from stage 4 colon cancer. Despite facing her tragic loss, Evie wanted to sing one more time for her dad.

She shared a message on Twitter, mourning her father, which said, “I will forever miss my sweet Daddy and cherish the last few moments I had with him, holding his hand, before the end. Love you lots!”

In the video below, posted on September 19, 2017, Evie returns to America’s Got Talent and dedicates her final performance to her father in front of millions of people.

She stands in the middle of the stage and starts singing “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. She uses all of her strength to perform, knowing that her dad is looking down at her.

Evie sings softly with her eyes closed as the audience watches her give this last performance for her dad everything she has. The entire crowd is silent, listening to Evie’s emotional tribute.

In the end, the 13-year-old finishes her heartbreaking cover and the crowd erupts in cheers for her.

Just being there that day took a lot of bravery and dedication. There’s no doubt her dad would have been proud of her.

So, what do you think of Evie’s final performance on the show and the touching tribute to her father after he passed away?
