Erica Harmon heard her dog, Bella, barking loudly at 8 a.m. It was unusual, so Erica knew she had to check out what was going on with her pet.
Bella was barking at the back door, and once Erica looked up, she saw a man trying to break into her home.
Luckily, she handled the frightening situation perfectly — and her intruder ended up feeling more terrified than the victim.
In the video below, posted on December 13, 2017, Erica explains: “I didn’t know if he had a gun or anything out there, but it was just first instinct for me to just scare him off.”
Erica’s presence shocked the intruder, and he immediately took off.
In the video, the mom of three says: “He ran around this corner and through here, and into the woods. I yelled at the top of my lungs, ‘You better get off of my property because I have the cops coming! I called 911!'”
The would-be robber then jumped into his car and drove away in a panic — leaving his driver’s side door open and speeding in reverse.
Now, Erica is glad Bella alerted her to the stranger trying to break into her home and is grateful that her little girls are all safe.
