Comfort food can make a bad day 100 percent better. Pizzas, potatoes, pastas, cheesy goodness — it’s all basically happiness on a plate.
One of the best parts about most comfort food is that it’s usually pretty gosh darn simple and easy to make. All you have to do with pasta, for example, is throw it in some boiling water and put a sauce on it.
But it’s not that hard to take it one step further and make it your own, too.
Emeril Lagasse has been bringing comfort food to us for years. I remember watching all of his cooking shows growing up. I obviously wasn’t cooking as a small child, but I still loved to watch this loud man cook up some delicious-looking food. Of course, I also always looked forward to his signature catch-phrase, “Bam!”
When Emeril went on Rachael Ray’s talk show to cook up a yummy dish of stuffed shells, I knew it was going to be a good one!
You can’t really go wrong with spinach, sausage, a bunch of different Italian cheeses, and a homemade pasta sauce. Plenty of fresh basil and a couple of eggs later, and Emeril kicked it up a notch.
Watching Emeril cook is never boring, at least to me! Do you love watching this star cook, too? Rachael also has a pretty funny story about when she was just starting out: her whole career almost went up in flames in Emeril’s kitchen… literally!
