A vacation meant to celebrate the coming birth of her baby turned into a nightmare for mom-to-be Elizabeth Docherty. She and her husband were out in the desert for a “babymoon” getaway when things took a horrible turn.

While in the desert, she somehow lost her beloved wedding ring.

“I was pretty devastated,” Elizabeth told Inside Edition. “I’m very attached to it. It’s got significant value to me — sentimental value.”

She was crushed, and though her husband consoled her, they both agreed that after searching, the odds of them finding the ring in the middle of the sand dunes were slim to none.

I mean, imagine trying to find a needle in a haystack!

One time, at the beach, I dove headfirst into an incoming wave and totally forgot my ring was on my finger. I loved that ring, and in one fell swoop, the ocean took it away. So even though it wasn’t as significant as a wedding ring, I can sympathize with the shock and devastation Elizabeth must have felt.

Then, two months later, when all seemed lost, her sister-in-law showed her a Facebook post.

“I cried — I just cried,” she said.
