Everyone loves a work Christmas party! It’s the one time of year everyone gets to let loose and get to know coworkers they might not otherwise interact with during the normal work day.

However, one group of coworkers in Bristol, England got closer to their colleagues than they ever imagined.

Firefighters were called on a scene when they learned 16 people had been trapped in the same elevator inside an office building. It turned out that all those people not only worked together, but were heading to the same Christmas and holiday party.

Talk about throwing a wrench in the evening’s activities!

In the video below, you can see a group of firefighters crowding around an elevator that appears to have gotten stuck between floors.

Soon, a woman’s legs appear, followed by the rest of her as she slides out from between the doors. Luckily, no one seems hurt or upset – in fact, some people are even handing out a few open beers!

At least the party started on the elevator!

I definitely wouldn’t catch me being so calm in such a small space, but at least this group made the best of a bad situation.
