Growing up, my favorite sweet treat was also my vice.
I took a liking to raw cookie dough early on in life, much to my mother’s dismay. Of course, she didn’t want me to make a habit out of eating raw eggs.
Why couldn’t I just wait until the dough was done cooking to enjoy the cookies? I’m telling you, child logic is an enigma.
Every time we would ball up the dough to put it on cookie sheets, I would try to sneak spoonfuls from the blender. I must’ve thought Mom wasn’t looking, but she caught me redhanded every time. And so begins my tragic, unrequited love story with cookie dough.
Therefore, you can imagine how downright excited I was when I learned there is a recipe for edible cookie dough! And not only is it a quick and simple recipe, but it even includes a healthy, top secret ingredient.
Now, I don’t have to feel guilty when I indulge in my favorite snack. After all, Mom would be proud of me for incorporating white beans and chickpeas into my diet.
To make your very own batch of edible cookie dough, check out the list of ingredients and instructions below. (And while you are at it, take a peek at this recipe for crispy deep-fried cookie dough!)
When it comes to cookie dough, the possibilities are truly endless. And no matter how you choose enjoy this delicious, edible treat, I can guarantee you will emerge a happy camper.
