Every single one of us should have a few self-defense moves at our disposal. Personally, I prefer to believe that the majority of people are good and mean me no harm.
Unfortunately, there will always be a few bad apples who don’t have my best interests at heart.
That’s when knowing how to defend yourself comes in handy. It’s a great idea to have an alarm or whistle to scare a bad guy off, but it’s even better to have the skills to make him let you go.
If you know some self-defense, you can protect yourself and get away from an assailant no matter how small you are or how big your attacker is.
Fortunately, the tough folks over at Notorious Mixed Martial Arts are here to give us all a crash course. Sensei Fiona Watson has a few awesome tips for defending yourself from an assailant.
These defensive maneuvers are specifically designed to help smaller people (like women and children) break free of a large attacker.
Please remember, in the event that you are attacked, you should not attempt to continue fighting or restraining your assailant after you break free; instead, get to a safe place and call the police immediately.
