Easy Heidi Braids Will Help You Beat The Heat In Style This Summer

by Jess Catcher
Jess grew up in Oklahoma before moving to New York to become a writer. She has a cat named Agnes.

I always dread when summer rolls around. Don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out in the sun and having fun with my friend at barbecues and holiday parties, but I definitely have no love for the heat that comes along with it. Sometimes, I’m tempted to shave all of my hair off just to finally feel less sticky and sweaty all day!

Luckily, there’s no need to resort to such drastic measures with my frustrating follicles. Instead of piling it all up on top of my head and making the whole situation worse, I’m totally going to try the adorable braiding technique below.

I’ve seen this Heidi-inspired style several times before, but it always seemed far too complicated to really accomplish on my own. Now I’m just sad I didn’t see this incredibly easy method ages ago!

The stylist starts by creating two simple braids, giving the woman a chic layered part in the back. From there, he adds volume by pulling slightly on the individual plaits. After that, he wraps the right braid over to the left of her head and vice versa, securing each one with plenty of bobby pins.

See, I told you! So easy! Of course, you have to have some pretty long locks to pull this off, but those with shorter hair might want to try the technique with a half up, half down look.

My favorite tip is how he tucks the ends of the braids underneath her locks for a seamless finish.
