While some fans may be sad to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson off the market, no one can deny how beautiful the 47-year-old actor looks in photos from his Hawaiian wedding.
Dwayne and his longtime love, singer/music producer Lauren Hashian, tied the knot in an ultraprivate ceremony on August 18.
There has been speculation about when the couple would tie the knot for some time. The couple first met in 2006 and began dating in 2007. They share two daughters, 3-year-old Jasmine and 16-month-old Tiana. The couple encountered rumors that they had secretly tied the knot last year. Dwayne shut down those rumors during an event for his film Skyscraper, telling Entertainment Tonight that they were in no rush and that his jam-packed schedule was keeping them from zeroing in on a date.
The couple is sharing more of their intimate day with fans. Lauren has posted some amazing pictures from the event, and the fun is just beginning. After Dwayne took a brief detour at the D23 Expo, the couple planned to head to their honeymoon.
After 12 years of dating, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Lauren Hashian have officially become husband and wife! The couple surprised fans by announcing their union via Instagram on August 19, after tying the knot the day prior.
“We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed),” the actor captioned the photo of the two of them. Dwayne wore a white shirt and white pants from Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label. Lauren looked stunning in a long white Mira Zwillinger lace dress with a low-cut neckline and long train.
Dwayne appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo with Jungle Cruise costar Emily Blunt, where he discussed his nuptials a bit. When asked how it feels to be married, he told Access Hollywood, “I feel great. It was a beautiful ceremony, and it was phenomenal.”
“We kept it under wraps,” Dwayne acknowledged. “Private, which is perfect.” We have been lucky enough to get some glimpses of the day thanks to Dwayne’s beautiful bride, who has shared some choice shots from the special day on Instagram.
Heavily featured in the beautiful photos are Dwayne and Lauren’s little girls, 3-year-old Jasmine and 16-month-old Tiana. The little girls were very clearly a big part of their parents’ special day, stealing the show with their adorable antics at times.
Of course, family was a big part of the day, as well as traditional Hawaiian elements. Both the bride’s and groom’s moms can be seen having a great time together dancing with little Jasmine, who is beaming.
When talking to Extra at the D23 Expo, Dwayne noted that location where he and Lauren got married in Kauai was a familiar place.”Where we got married was in Kauai, two minutes from where they lived when we shot Jungle Cruise,” he explained. The “they” he refers to are Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski.
Emily did joke that the event was put together so last minute that she wasn’t able to attend. “[The invite] came way too late,” she laughed. “Like an hour later you were married so I didn’t have any opportunity to hop on a plane and celebrate this.”
Some fans thought that the couple had already gotten hitched. A rumor spread last year that the couple had already secretly wed, because Dwayne would often refer to Lauren as “my wife.” He spoke to Entertainment Tonight about those rumors while promoting Skyscraper.
“We were going to get married in the spring and we got pregnant,” he explained at the time. “Lauren felt like, well, you know, mama [doesn’t want] to take pictures being pregnant in a wedding dress, so we’re just going to wait and not quite sure when, but I know it’s going to happen.”
The big day may have come and gone, but there are still a lot of special moments ahead for the couple. Dwayne revealed that they would be going on their honeymoon after he finished up at the D23 Expo.
“She’s waiting, and I fly back to her now and we are going to have a honeymoon,” he told Access Hollywood. “It’s going to be great; it’s going to be fantastic.” It seems like that honeymoon is now underway.
Dwayne shared a photo of the two eating sushi at the Northside Grill in Hanalei. “Grateful mahalo to our friends at #HanaleiNorthsideGrill for quietly shutting down their spot so I could have some honeymoon time with @laurenhashianofficial,” he wrote in the photo’s caption.
Everyone hopes that Dwayne and Lauren get to enjoy a quiet, relaxing honeymoon together. They may have over a decade together under their belts, but there’s something special about being able to soak in those precious early days of marriage together.
