Homeless Drug Addict Who Had A Heart Attack At 20 Is Now A Hunky Model On A Men’s Magazine Cover

Lindsey is from Florida and has worked in online and print media. Her happy place is Michaels craft store.

Michael Dubree was just 13 years old the first time he started doing drugs. Looking at him now, though, you’d probably never guess he was ever homeless and spiraling into a dangerous drug addiction.

“I was smoking pot and drinking alcohol starting at age 13,” Michael told USA Today. “I had a heart attack when I was 20, related to my use of [methamphetamine].”

The addiction took over his life, lasting well into his 20s. In 2011, Michael finally decided to enter a rehabilitation center to help his drug addiction. During his recovery, Michael’s friend invited him to the gym to work out.

“I was scared,” he said about going. “I didn’t want to do anything. I didn’t want to embarrass myself, but eventually, when everyone else cleared out, my friend showed me how to do a few different things, and from that point on, I kept going back.”

Michael traded drugs for dumbbells and started seeing amazing changes in his physical and mental health after going to the gym.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is actually working,’ and from that day forward, something happened,” he said. “I guess it was the first time in my life that I had tried something and got positive results from it.”

Only seven years later, Michael has transformed his entire life. He’s now clean, employed, and no longer homeless. He even was the winner of the 2017 Ultimate Guy contest and put on the cover of Men’s Health.
