Mom Who Was Beaten With Meat Tenderizer By Ex Tells Dr. Phil She Feels Guilty Discussing Abuse

by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

Tammi experienced so much trauma in her last relationship, she was left shattered. Her abusive ex attacked her with a meat tenderizer, but she was able to make it out alive and seek help.

She never wanted to go back to that life, but she felt like a shell of the woman she used to be — even after she escaped her violent ex. When the mom came on the Dr. Phil Show on January 3, 2018, she gained a whole new perspective on her situation.

The first part of this Dr. Phil episode features Tammi expressing her guilt for surviving and escaping her ex. She says, “I just feel like it’s selfish for me to talk about something that happened two years ago. I just feel like, ‘You’re alive, get over it. Time heals.'” Dr. Phil can sense her pain.

In the video below, Tammi explains, “For the new year, I would really like to get back to the healthy person that I was. I want to feel confident at work, I want to be able to sleep in my bed. I don’t want to be afraid to leave my house.”

Dr. Phil tries to get Tammi to realize that it’s okay to feel upset and that she deserves to be saved. He asks her, “Right now, do you feel guilty about having all this attention?”

She takes a moment to think and concludes that Dr. Phil is there to help her because she indefinitely needs support to get through this experience — and there’s nothing wrong with that.

In the end, Dr. Phil teaches Tammi an important lesson that any victim of abuse needs to hear.

Check out Dr. Phil’s wise words in the video below, and please SHARE if you are glad that Tammi is ready to get back to a good place very soon!
