Laura and Nathan Phillips were born with completely different forms of dwarfism. Laura, who stands at 4’1, has achondroplasia, which is the most common form of human dwarfism.

Nathan, who stands at 3’11, has pseudoachondroplasia, which is caused by a variety of mutations.

Laura and Nathan met and fell in love when they were playing dwarfs in a production of Snow White. Laura gave birth to their first child in 2014 before they were married.

Nathan Jr. was born the only “double dwarf” in the UK. This medical phenomenon means he has both of his parent’s dwarfism, which is an extremely rare occurrence.

The family of three was suddenly dubbed “Britain’s Shortest Family.” But doctors gave their baby boy only hours to live.

Despite the odds stacked against him, Nathan Jr. survived and grew into a happy little boy. In fact, Nathan Jr. served as his parents’ ring bearer when they tied the knot in 2016.

Nathan Jr. will be starting school right around the time their second child is born. That’s right — Laura and Nathan are pregnant with their second child.

In the video below, Laura and Nathan go to the doctor for a prenatal ultrasound to see if their unborn child will also be a double dwarf like his older brother — and what that could mean for Britain’s Shortest Family.
