Carolyn Ware and her husband were out of town for the July 4th weekend. Little did they know a potential disaster was about to strike back at home in Grimes, Iowa.

While away, Carolyn received an alert from their Ring doorbell cam.

It was a man she had never seen before, frantically knocking on her door in the darkness.

As you’ll see in the clip below, he ultimately saved the Wares’ home from burning down.

“It’s obviously a priceless act of kindness and there is no amount of money or whatever you can do to even pay this man or to do,” Carolyn told WHO Des Moines. “But I just want him to know that I am so thankful and my husband and my family are so thankful and I’m just glad there are people in the world like him.”

The grateful couple was desperate to track down their hero, so a local news channel shared the Ring security camera images with its viewers.

Less than 24 hours later, he was identified.
