Man Swimming In Shark-Infested Waters Screams When He Sees Fin — Then Realizes It’s A Dolphin

Ballina is known as the “shark-attack capital” of Australia, so swimming in those waters is kind of a risk.

According to 42-year-old Craig Bateman, lifeguards use drones to monitor the shore and alert swimmers and surfers  of nearby sharks. Craig is no stranger to swimming the Ballina waters, though luckily he has never found himself close to a shark.

However, he thought that streak of luck ended when a large dorsal fin protruded out of the water next to him!

In the video below, Craig and a friend were surfing in Ballina when he suffered the shock of a lifetime.

With his friend more than a few feet away, Craig lies on his surfboard just as a wave sweeps by, shooting him forward.

He filmed the entire scene, catching the moment a creature appears just a few feet away from him.

The creature is nearly close enough for him to touch!

When he saw the animal’s dorsal fin, he let out a loud scream. I can’t blame him either, considering how many sharks reside in the area.
