Wife Spends $4 At Dollar Store, Then Transforms Frame And Easels Into An Elegant Decorative Tray

Creating this elegant decorative tray is easy and cheap, but it will look like you spent a fortune on it.

In the video below, a woman named Storee walks us through a simple project that uses items found at her local dollar store. It includes two display easels, which can be found in the frame section, as well as an 8×10 frame.

To start, remove the backing and paper from the frame and fold the small black tabs in. To create the handles of the tray, measure 1.5 inches from where the two bends are and use wire cutters to snip.

After marking the frame, Storee uses glue to adhere the handles to the short sides of the frame. Using painter’s tape to hold down each side is a great trick to keep the handles on the frame while the glue dries.

For the inside of the decorative tray, Storee went into the gift wrap section of her dollar store and grabbed a silver textured gift bag. Remove the handle of one side of the bag then cut it out. Next, trace out the bag with the glass and cardboard backing from the frame.

Once that’s done it’s time to reassemble. Put the glass back inside the frame, then the bag and the backing! After that, the decorative tray is ready to put on display on a dresser or even in a bathroom to hold toiletries.
