It’s been a tough year in California.

After countless earthquakes and devastating wildfires, Ventura County is now experiencing deadly mudslides, with rescue missions still currently underway.

So far, 17 people have been declared dead. Thanks to the hard work of firefighters and rescue workers, countless others, both human and canine, have been saved.

In the video below, you can see four thankful dogs who were rescued by the fire department after getting trapped in mud. Experiencing freedom and love for the first time in days, these dogs could not be happier as they attack every person they see with hugs and kisses.

The dogs’ owner was helicoptered to safety the day before the dogs were rescued, and the family will now be happily reunited.

“I know that people were missing [the dogs] and this is gonna be a joyous reunion for them,” a representative from the fire department said.
