This past weekend, New York was hit by Winter Storm Jonas… and I, personally, couldn’t have been happier! I know it’s not the most convenient thing to ever happen, but if you take the proper pre-storm precautions and make the trek out to the park, you would understand.
When the storm began to subside and it was safe to go outside, I made my way to Prospect Park. After a 30 minute walk, I made it to the sprawling lawn. It was truly breathtaking to see so much open space covered in a foot of snow, which muted all the sounds of the city. Children were there with their families sledding down the hills, having the time of their lives. I spent a good hour and a half trudging through the increasingly deep snow… it brought me right back to childhood! I also spotted many ecstatic dogs frolicking through the fresh powder.
These happy pups playing in the snow are even happier than I was this past weekend. Their owners were all kind enough to brave the snowy weather so that their pooches could get together and play in the sparkling white powder. There’s something about the wintery blanket that most dogs cannot get enough of! These pups at their park keep finding more and more friends to play with, and it’s so cute to see them so happy in this winter wonderland! I wonder if they tried to build a snow pup?
