Back in January, a woman was driving along the Revere Beach Parkway in Everett, Massachusetts, when she came across a little dog on the highway.
Police officers in the area began investigating the case and heard from a tipster that the dog had been thrown from a black Escalade SUV.
It had been particularly cold that day, the woman named Jamie-Lee Hersey remembered.
“It was freezing. I was cold I can only imagine the dog,” Jamie-Lee told WBZ Boston.
Jamie-Lee was quick to help the little dog and even flagged down another driver so they could take him to a car wash nearby.
“He was losing a lot of blood.
Bleeding a lot. I called for help. Wrapped him in towels and sweatshirts. Blood everywhere,” she added.
Luckily, this Good Samaritan’s selfless act and quick thinking saved the little dog, who now goes by the name Bobby.
Everett Animal Control recently posted on their Facebook page that Bobby has undergone major surgery and is in recovery.
They wrote, “Bobby is a tiny guy about 10 pounds, great with dogs, kids, cats and loves to eat even thou he has no teeth,” which definitely sounds like the perfect dog to adopt!
Despite being found in terrible shape and shivering in the freezing cold, Bobby is a fighter, and we have good people like Jamie-Lee to thank for his survival.
