Siggy the dog is lucky to be alive, and it’s all thanks to one brave teen and his mom!
Mary Hufstedler had just picked up her son Tyler from school when they were driving down a busy road. Mary suddenly came to a stop: A dog had just run into traffic.
The dog belonged to Laura Schmuldt. Somehow, Siggy had broken free from his leash.
As he ran toward the speeding cars, Laura had to turn around. She didn’t want to see her beloved pet get killed!
But when she turned back around, she saw what had happened. Tyler had jumped out of the car to grab Siggy while his mom worked to stop the cars on the road.
Luckily, as Tyler scooped up the pup, no one got hurt. He was able to return him to his grateful owner.
Overwhelmed with gratitude and relief, Laura never got to thank Tyler and Mary properly in the heat of the moment. She and Siggy later met with the mother and son and gave them a few gifts to show her thanks, including a framed photo of Siggy!
The pup seems to remember his rescuer, though, and was happy to see him again.
Tyler says that saving Siggy was simply instinctual. What a courageous young man!
Please SHARE if you’re glad both the teen and the dog were unharmed in this daring rescue!
