It’s hard to watch this video and not get a warm feeling inside. We’ve seen many an animal rescue here — especially dog rescues — but what makes this video so special is how far the Good Samaritan was willing to go to save the dog trapped in a rainwater drainpipe.
In the video, a poor dog had somehow become trapped inside the drainpipe near a school. A group — including a teen whom the dog belonged to — gathered together to try and save him.
They began by digging a hole through dense gravel and dirt to reach the dog. But it seemed that, even as the hole grew bigger, they still couldn’t find the pup. That’s when the man decided to take the matter into his own hands — literally!
He shoved his arm into the hole, all the way to his shoulder, in an attempt to coerce the dog out. He even tore his hand while trying!
Finally, the dog popped out, but the hole still wasn’t big enough for him to escape.
The man continued on, digging the dirt out with one hand while shielding the dog’s face with his other hand. Talk about a real hero!
