Anne Sabol lives on a quiet cul-de-sac in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It was around 8 a.m. on a Thursday morning when Anne looked out her front window and noticed something strange taking place on her street: A silver 2003 Mercury Sable was aimlessly driving around in circles, in reverse.
At first, she thought it was just somebody trying to back up their car … but when they didn’t stop?
“OK, what are they doing?!” she asked herself. Then she started to record the bizarre scene on her phone.
Anne couldn’t see who was driving the car as it drove backward in circles, whipping around on neighbors’ lawns and hitting their mailboxes and trashcans in the process.
When the police and fire department arrived on scene, they watched in awe as the vehicle continued to do donuts around the cul-de-sac.
Finally, one of the policemen approached the car and opened the locked driver’s side door by punching in a passcode — and that’s when things got really weird.
