Some of my fondest childhood memories are the simplest ones. In wintertime, it’s being pulled around in a plastic red sled through the snow by my dad. In the springtime, it’s hunting for our Easter baskets throughout the house and plastic eggs hidden in the yard. Fall, of course, is jumping into gigantic heaps of crunchy leaves and hearing that most satisfying crunch underneath the little weight of my small body.
But in the summer? It was all about sprinklers.
Don’t you remember running about your backyard through a sprinkler, leaping through thin walls of water? It was so simple, but so fun. I remember that my parents saw how much my brothers and I were enjoying the regular garden sprinkler, and bought us some fancy ones that lifted hats off of a grinning head or something else of the sort. But, we always went back to that normal sprinkler because sometimes, all you need are the bare necessities.
This DIY pool noodle sprinkler is absolutely perfect for anyone, from child to adult. The folks at Make It and Love It demonstrate how unbelievably simple it is to construct this backyard toy in just a few steps, using just a few simple materials.
