Dad Wears Same ‘Dorky’ White Shoes For 30 Years, But He’s A New Man After Drastic Makeover

Giovanna was born in Rome, Italy and currently resides in South Salem, New York. In her free time, she likes to cook with her children and grandchildren.

Pat might not be the most stylish guy out there, but you can’t say he isn’t committed to his look: He’s worn the same white sneakers for almost 30 years, no matter the occasion.

Pat first received the shoes as a Christmas gift from his mother-in-law the year he and his wife Emily tied the knot, he told Rachael Ray last year on her self-titled talk show.

“And she’s given me another pair, every year, at Christmas,” he added.

Emily and her daughter Lisa brought Pat on Rachael’s show for a makeover because, after nearly three decades, they’d officially had enough of those “nerdy” shoes.

“Now that we’ve aged, when you look at Pat you see white hair, white shoes,” Emily explained.

She added: “My favorite photo is actually of Pat on a duck-hunting trip, and when you see that, you see camouflage, camouflage, boom — white shoes.”

Rachael tapped the expertise of style guru Kyan Douglas for Pat’s transformation, whose game plan was to structure his new look around “must-haves” — “things that every guy should have in their closet,” Kyan said.

He wound up dressing Pat in dark jeans, a red polo, a leather jacket — oh, and a pair of comfy brown high-tops. His new look made Emily’s and Lisa’s jaws drop.
