When a man or a woman becomes a parent, it’s said that he or she acquires some kind of instinct that allows them to know and do things others can’t. This includes instinctually knowing that your child is in distress, why, and how you can fix it.
Apparently, that instinct also gives you killer reflexes. Just ask this dad, who has no idea how he was able to save his son’s birthday cake after the upset toddler decided to flip it over.
In the video below, the family gathers around Jack’s high chair as his mother gently puts the small cake in front of him.
Jack’s dad says that his son was already pretty upset. He tells LittleThings:
“So we were getting ready to bring my son over to the high chair for his birthday cake, and he saw his pool outside. We had been promising he’d go outside once his cousin (the boy standing next to him) was there. So them, combined with us saying he couldn’t go outside, he got pretty upset.”
Angrily, the toddler decides to grab the plate and flip over the cake! The dad reacts very quickly and stops the dessert from tumbling to the ground.
What amazing reflexes! Even the father seems amazed and impressed by his own abilities.
What kind of instincts did you get when you had your kids?
