A father named Rex was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in August 2014. Two weeks after he was admitted to the hospital for shortness of breath, he was dead. But even though Rex’s autopsy stated he died of natural causes in the hospital, his grieving daughter, Amanda, was convinced of foul play.
The day after Rex’s unexpected passing, Amanda says she went through his belongings and found something very suspicious tucked in the pages of his Book of Mormon.
It was a handwritten letter Rex had written just six hours before he died. What it said about his primary care nurse left her dumbfounded.
The more Amanda investigated, the more obsessed she became with uncovering what she felt was the truth, and bringing justice to Rex. But her mom and brother worried she’d given up on her own life in the process.
“Before Rex died, she loved to go out, karaoke, meet people and dance,” her mom says. “She used to really want to get her degree, and she had goals. And then, all of a sudden, it was nothing.”
In the video below, courtesy of Dr. Phil, Amanda asks the host whether or not she has a case for murder.
