One of the most important memories a bride can make on her wedding day is walking down the aisle with her father. This is when he gives her away to her husband, who will be the one to care and provide for her.

But Sherri Webb never got to make this memory. Her father passed away in a car crash before her wedding, and the tragedy broke her heart. She couldn’t stand the thought of getting married without him there to walk her down the aisle or share a dance.

Her dream wedding almost didn’t happen.

However, she persevered and came to realize that she still needed to marry the love of her life. The wedding went off without a hitch, and Sherri’s little brother was the one who performed all the duties that would have been her dad’s.

The young man had been sitting next to his father during the crash, but he survived.

Sherri didn’t simply “replace” her father at the wedding, though. She carried his memory — literally — by attaching a framed photo of him to her bouquet.

She and her family are still mourning the loss, but they have reason to celebrate. Sherri says that her father was likely watching them and the wedding, thinking that his son did a great job of stepping into his shoes.
