A dad and his 3-year-old daughter, Molly, were traveling from Boston to San Francisco on October 31, 2016.
Like many kids, Molly couldn’t wait to trick-or-treat, so she was sad she’d miss the Halloween festivities by being up in the air with her dad.
To make sure his daughter didn’t miss trick-or-treating, however, he devised a plan. He let Molly wear her donut costume on the plane and then he passed out a note and piece of candy to every passenger.
The note read:
“My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight… so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her. If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket. You’ll be making her Halloween! If you’re unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me. Thanks so much!”
Stephanie Kahan, a passenger on their flight, snapped a photo of the note and of Molly. She then put the images on Twitter. Stephanie’s post ended up getting a ton of attention from others who also thought it was the cutest thing. It received over 315,000 likes and more than 151,000 retweets.
“This little girl dressed as a donut just walked down the aisle of the plane trick-or-treating,” Stephanie told Inside Edition. “It was so sweet.”
Stephanie said that the note made her tear up, and she was happy to help make the little girl’s Halloween a success. “I thought it was the cutest thing in the world,” she said.
