Some stories have somber beginnings, but that helps to make their happy endings even sweeter.
One particular Southern California terrier named Cry Baby has a particularly rough start to his story.
The little guy was hit by a car, which broke his back and prevented him from using his back legs.
After his paralysis was confirmed, his family no longer wanted him — a sad twist that ended up being a blessing in disguise.
He ended up being taken in by Susan Fulcher, who gave him and new loving home as well as a new name: Presley.
Presley is also not the first dog that she’s taken in either; she’s rescued over 25 pups with the same sad circumstances!
And she doesn’t just stop at housing them, she’s also fit each of them with their own doggie wheelchairs, which help renew their livelihood and independence.
Amazingly it doesn’t stop there — she also trains them to become therapy dogs, who come into schools and provide stress relief for children.
Thanks to her unbelievable kindness, these dogs who have had hard lives are getting a second chance at being mobile, being independent and being loved.
