If you thought swing dancing was only a thing of the past, then feast your eyes on dance partners William Mauvais and Maeva Truntzer.
These two might even make you want to try some swing dance classes yourself!
The French couple participated in European Swing Dance Championships (yes, that’s a thing!) in 2015, where they performed a fun unforgettable routine for the finals. In this particular performance, they showed off their best Lindy Hop, a dance that came out of Harlem, NY, in the 1920s.
Much like Russian professional dancer Ksenia Parkhatskaya, who leaves viewers in awe with her Charleston interpretation, this dancing duo will keep you entertained from start to finish.
Mauvais and Truntzer are full of energy as they perfect every move for Europe’s largest and most prestigious swing dance competition. (And that includes the really tough ones, like Truntzer’s leg lift around the 1:10 mark!)
However, their chemistry on the dance floor isn’t really a surprise. These two have been performing together for over 10 years, according to their website.
“Their ability to remain true to themselves and to assume their identity makes them stand out,” their website reads. “These dancers of small stature will sure know how to carry you away into their world full of talent, [humor], genius and generosity, which they can’t wait to share with as many people as possible.”
I’m hoping these two also participate in the next European Swing Dance Championships in London in 2017.
