Erin Wise is a mother who believes that kindness is an important part of life because it can make the difference in someone’s day, or even his or her life. In the month of December, she and her kids practice kindness every day to teach them its value. Part of that lesson is learning not to expect anything in return.
But recently, Erin needed to do something nice for someone else. She’d just learned that her son’s cancer returned.
Though the cancer is very treatable, Erin was heartbroken. She felt it would lift her spirits if she could show someone else some kindness, so, while in line for lunch, she paid for the meals of the two cops in line with her.
When the cops learned what she had done, they wanted to find a way to thank her for her generosity. Unfortunately, Erin had disappeared from the restaurant shortly after snapping a photo with the cops. They posted the picture online, hoping to find her after learning the sad news she’d just found out.
They eventually discovered her identity and were able to pay it forward. The entire family had breakfast with Santa, and the children will get to participate in the local Shop with a Sheriff program.
Please SHARE if you think that people should practice kindness year-round to make themselves and others feel great!
