It is the job of officers of the law to keep citizens under their care safe and happy. They do all they can to fulfill this duty, including some tasks that are not necessarily required of them.

They often surprise children at their birthday parties or hand out toys at hospitals. They also happen to assist in proposals, if asked to!

A pair of officers from the Sparta Police Department were all too happy to help one citizen propose to his unsuspecting girlfriend, under the guise of pulling him over.

In the video below, the cops follow the man’s car for a few minutes, talking about how he’s a “nervous” driver. But they mention that he has more than one reason to feel this way, and it seems like they know something the audience doesn’t!

They pull him over and tell him to get out of his car very slowly. He follows their instructions but takes a moment to reach into his pocket.

When the cops pull his girlfriend out of the car and have her face him, it all becomes clear: there’s a ring in his hand!

The woman, without a doubt relieved that her boyfriend isn’t actually being arrested, gladly accepts the proposal.

These cops certainly did a good job tricking her into thinking this setup was real!
