Deputy Jeremie Nix had just gone off-duty in Marion County, Florida. On his way back home, a woman named Nechole Cromwell flagged him down at an intersection.
With his dash cam rolling, the deputy watched as a frantic Nechole leapt out of the passenger seat with her three-month old son Kingston in her arms.
The infant was clearly unresponsive. “You can tell he’s completely lifeless,” the deputy told WKMG-TV. “She just hands him to me and the first words out of her mouth were, ‘Don’t let my baby die.'”
Jeremie tried various techniques to revive Kingston, but nothing seemed to work. He called for an emergency ambulance, but he knew time was quickly running out. He knew he didn’t have time to wait for the ambulance to arrive, so he took matters into his own hands.
He made the snap decision to take Kingston from his horrified mother and place him in his patrol car, sirens blazing.
You’re about to see the result of his quick-thinking and heroism.
