A horrible traffic accident in Dallas caused a vehicle to overturn, trapping a mother, father and their three children under the age of five inside the car.

When Sgt. Donald Boice arrived to the scene, he could hear both parents screaming “Please, don’t let my babies die.”

The father suffered a fractured arm and the mother needed emergency medical treatment. Police say all three children survived because they were strapped into their carseats when the vehicle flipped over.

Sgt. Donald Boice knew he had to distract the kids from the horror taking place around them. “The hardest part of it was convincing the mother that her children were going to be okay, and to let him hold the three-month-old boy while she received medical care,” he told CBS Local.

The caring officer cradled the infant beside the ambulance, and with three children of his own, he quickly tapped into his parental instincts.

Now, a powerful photo capturing this moment at the car crash scene is going viral.
