Cop Grabs 9-Foot Anaconda By The Tail And Wrangles It Into A Bag With Only Her Bare Hands

I absolutely love snakes. I think they are beautiful creatures that are completely misunderstood. I remember in high school, my science teacher was selling his small red rat snakes before summer vacation, and I pleaded with my parents to take one home. Sadly, they did not feel the same way about snakes.

While I adore them, I’m not sure I would be brave enough to walk up to a nine-foot anaconda and casually pick it up. But that’s exactly what a Florida detective did.

Emily Shaw, a detective with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, received a call that there was a huge snake roaming around.

Equipped with her bare hands and an orange duffel bag, Emily can be seen grabbing the snake by its tail. “You are crazy, girl!” the man behind the camera told her.

The brave detective first tried poking the snake with a large stick, most likely so it would uncoil and she could grab it easily. As you’ll see in the footage below, she wraps the anaconda’s tail around her arm and picks it up using only her bare hands!

After a few close calls from the snake trying to strike her, the detective is able to wrangle the snake and put it inside the bag.

Showing that it was no big deal to her, Emily said “ta-da” when the anaconda was safely zipped into the duffel bag.
