Coffee Shop With Disabled Employees Is Now The Sole Coffee Provider For Rachael Ray

by Nicole Cannizzaro
Nicole is a writer who studied journalism. She loves music and spending time with her family.

Rachael Ray often speaks about how food brings people together, but this time, she proves that coffee can too.

Amy started Bitty and Beau’s Coffee Shop, a wonderful coffee company in Wilmington, NC.

This coffee shop is much more than just a place to get a cup of joe; it was designed to help a community come together.

Amy wanted to make a place for people with disabilities to be able to thrive in and for those without disabilities to get the chance to know, appreciate, and spend time with the employees.

Her mission was accomplished quickly — she was even featured on Rachael Ray’s show.

But recently, when we got an update about their amazing company, we found out that their mission has skyrocketed beyond their wildest dreams.

They went from a 500-square-foot space to a 5,000-square-foot space. And they now have over 40 intellectually and developmentally disabled employees.

Their mission to help others was successful, but now they’re becoming successful across all boards.

During this update, everyone gets emotional. But the ending is a beautiful surprise, when Ray decides that her new coffee supplier will not be the infamous Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts, but instead it’ll be Bitty and Beau’s.
