Don’t you ever have those days where you look up at the blue sky and lose your breath from how beautiful it is?

Sometimes clouds are just so delicate and wispy against all that pale blue that they leave you staring out a window or lying in the grass looking up for hours on end. It could eve be that you you thing of eating them up because they look so amazing.

Elizabeth Marek, a baker with Artisan Cake Company, thought the exact same thing.

Elizabeth is a pro at making beautiful and delicious treats, but this cloud cake might just be my favorite. It’s delightfully simple, yet it’s impossible not to smile when you see it.

While it isn’t complicated, it definitely took some imagination to figure out how to get the design just right. I’m sure Elizabeth had a few trials before finding the solution in a meager paper bag — genius!

It’s amazing what you can do with a ripped paper bag if you’re creative enough, like Elizabeth. This nature-inspired cake would look pretty incredible with these floral cupcakes and cakes. There’s just something so lovely about desserts inspired by nature. It’s almost like you don’t have to worry about over-indulging your sweet tooth because they’re so in tune with the earth, right?

Although, if you want to go an entirely different “nature route,” you could make yourself a cake from fruit, like one woman did for her elderly father who couldn’t have sweets anymore.

I would love to have this cloud cake at my party, wouldn’t you?
