Suzelle from SuzelleDIY brings us this stunning backyard project that can easily be completed in a day. With cinder blocks, cement glue, and a couple of cans of spray paint, this will spruce up any outdoor area.

In Suzelle’s very quirky video, she shows us how to construct a garden bench using cinder blocks. The cinder block bench works twofold because, well, you can sit on it, and you can plant decorative, lush flowers in it.

The result is not only a shabby-chic, eye-catching bench, but also a totally functional flower garden. Form and function is a great way to avoid clutter without sacrificing aesthetic. Genius!

All you have to do is spray-paint the cinder blocks in a color of your choice. Stack them into the shape of a bench using the glue. Then use the slots that are already in the cinder blocks as gardening pots.

If flowers aren’t your thing, here’s how to make your very own vegetable garden using kitchen scraps. Suzelle recommends a friend to help with the heavy lifting. For more detailed instructions, watch the video below.

Would you ever do this in your backyard? Let us know in the comments.
