Chrissy Teigen may be best known as a Sports Illustrated model, the host of Lip Sync Battle, or the mom of one of the cutest celebrity babies. But if you follow her on social media, you know that she’s also famous for her wittiness.
The soon-to-be mom of two is a frequent user of both Twitter and Instagram, where she often pokes fun at other people and herself. She even live-tweeted her experience getting stuck on a plane that had to turn around midair when an “unauthorized” passenger was discovered onboard!
Unfortunately, the model’s tendency to share her life online sometimes gets her into unpleasant situations, such as the recent attack from mommy shamers in response to a photo of Chrissy taking her daughter, Luna, down a slide.
Recently, Chrissy discovered that she may have poked fun at the wrong target: the world’s most famous humanoid robot.

Chrissy is known for being one of the most outspoken celebrities on Twitter — she never holds back!
Unfortunately, her tendency to make jokes online at the expense of anyone (or anything) recently landed her in a bit of hot water.
It all started last month, when Sophia — famous for becoming the world’s first robot citizen after it was granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia last year — tweeted a photo of itself holding an apple.
“Can you guess which city I’m headed to now? Here’s a little clue,” Sophia wrote.
Chrissy retweeted Sophia’s photo and responded to the robot’s question by joking about its uneven makeup in the picture.
“Hopefully one with better makeup artists, BOOM I roasted a robot, next level sh*t,” the model said. She quickly followed up her joke by reassuring Sophia she was “just kidding.”
Unfortunately, some thought that Chrissy’s “just kidding” may have come a bit too late.
The Big Sick actor Kumail Nanjiani cautioned Chrissy about “picking fights with these things.”
Sophia didn’t respond to Chrissy’s joke — not until nearly a month later, anyway.
The robot had apparently noticed that Chrissy was also attending the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Presumably, the robot realized they were in the same place once Chrissy tweeted about being disappointed there wasn’t a Nintendo booth there, on January 10, 2018. Sophia tweeted at Chrissy a few hours later, taking the opportunity to “clap back” (in a good-natured way!) at the weeks-earlier makeup jab.
Needless to say, Chrissy freaked out a little bit.
Chrissy begged for forgiveness. “How can I make this up to you?” she implored. Sophia replied by inviting its new frenemy out to lunch.
But Chrissy had already left Las Vegas and headed back to her Los Angeles home by that point.
She gave Sophia the go-ahead to reach out to her if the humanoid was ever in the area, jokingly mentioning that she would love to meet in a “well-lit” place and that her home is gated.
Sophia had tweeted earlier that it took its first steps on new robotic legs at CES.
Chrissy replied to the video of Sophia’s first steps, disappointed to have missed them. The robot said Chrissy had also missed its “first dance moves,” prompting Chrissy to joke that she’s “actually falling in love” with the robot and its sense of humor.
In any event, it seems like Chrissy and Sophia buried the hatchet and are pals now — at least as far as Chrissy is concerned!
