Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are not your average parents. Not many kids can say that dad was on TV the previous night while mom’s continuing Twitter war with the president raged on.
Of course, 3-year-old Luna Simone and 1-year-old Miles Theodore are probably not yet aware just how fascinating their parents are or how huge their impact is. What they can wrap their minds around, however, is some new ink on mama’s arm.
Chrissy took to Instagram to share scenes from her latest tattoo session with tattoo artist Daniel Winter, better known as Winter Stone. It’s not the first time Chrissy has trusted the renowned Los Angeles fine-line artist with inking her.
She and John also got matching tattoos commemorating their family by Winter Stone back in April. In this new tattoo, Chrissy added her parents to the family, which shows all the birthdays of the important people in her life.
Chrissy Teigen is a one-of-a-kind figure among the many stars in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old mom of two manages to be carefree and awesome, making her own rules as she goes, while still being totally vulnerable and human.
What everyone loves about Chrissy is her sense of humor. She doesn’t take this fame thing too seriously like many others, instead opting to poke fun at herself and anyone else who needs to lighten up.
Despite her fun-loving nature, when it comes to serious business, Chrissy also keeps it very real. She’s spoken out on a number of difficult topics including her struggles to conceive and postpartum depression.
Chrissy is very clearly all about her family. She often shares sweet moments from her time with John, 3-year-old Luna, 1-year-old Miles, and her parents. Chrissy’s mom, Vilailuck, lives with her and John, while dad Ron Sr. lives around the corner.
Chrissy recently made a very permanent decision on how to show her love for her family. She took to Instagram to share photos from her tattoo session with Daniel Winter, better known as Winter Stone.
Winter Stone is known for his fine-line tattoos that grace some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Earlier this year, he adorned Lady Gaga with the beautiful spine tattoo she got to commemorate her time working on A Star Is Born.
This isn’t the first time that Winter Stone has worked with Chrissy. In April, Chrissy and John both visited the tattoo artists for matching tattoos. Hers reads “johnlunamiles” while his reads “chrissylunamiles.”
Chrissy posted photos of the tattoos, which also included a small heart on her finger. She joked in the caption, “hey guys please don’t talk to us unless u have tattoos we are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families (srry if this seems harsh).”
“Thank you thank you @winterstone. You are not only incredibly talented but you are very kind and delightful and welcome over any time!!”
Chrissy’s latest tattoo is another nod to how much her family means to her. She was inked with her father’s and mother’s birthdays, followed by John’s, Luna’s, and Miles’. The birthdays are written one after another in a line down her forearm.
Friends and fans alike commented on the photos of Chrissy’s tattoo. “The ultimate mnemonic device!” John wrote. Comedian David Spade joked, “I use these lotto numbers too. Small world 🌎.”
There was some controversy around the tattoo, however. Several commenters pointed out that Chrissy getting numbers tattooed on her forearm was reminiscent of the numbers Jews had tattooed on them during the Holocaust.
Several of Chrissy’s fans, as well as those who are well-versed on the Holocaust and closely impacted by its aftermath, came to her defense. They believe that Chrissy meant no ill will by her tattoo’s placement. Many pointed out that she’s far from the first person, let alone celebrity, to have numbers inked on that part of her body.
Chrissy didn’t respond to any of the comments linking her ink to the tragedy. Of course, she has to pick and choose whom she responds to these days. The internet trolls come for Chrissy in increasing numbers with every post.
It’s beautiful that Chrissy’s tattoos are commemorating the special bond she has with her parents, with John, and with her children. Family clearly means a lot to Chrissy, and her way of showing it must feel special to those she loves.
