Chrissy Teigen can now add proud mama to her growing list of accomplishments. The supermodel turned talk show host turned cookbook author welcomed a baby girl with her hubby, singer John Legend (John Roger Stephens), on Thursday, April 14.
If you count their beloved English bulldogs (we know they are!) that would make them a happy family of five. It’s also the first child for the both of them.
“She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” Teigen shared on Instagram on Sunday along with the baby’s weight – 6 lbs. and 11 oz.
The 30-year-old was open about her struggle to get pregnant with Legend, whom she wed in 2013, seven years after they met on the set of his music video “Stereo.” In a segment of FABlife in 2015, the talk show co-host said, “We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened, but my gosh, it’s been a process.”
She was later also candid about the couple’s decision to choose the girl embryo while undergoing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Revealing that decision led to much backlash.
Never one to bite her tongue, however, Teigen defended the couple’s decision on Twitter, adding, “This is all so interesting. I said it so casually because I’m just open. I’m around so many open-minded people & forgot it’s controversial.”
Regardless what others have to say, it’s clear these two are happier than ever!
