Within hours of TMZ’s story breaking, Dakota Johnson’s rep denied the pregnancy in a statement to People.

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are set to welcome their first child together — or so it appears.

TMZ first reported the news on Monday, October 8. Apparently, the pair (who have been dating for about a year) hosted a party at Chris’ home on Saturday. Photos and video footage leaked from the affair made it obvious that the celebration was actually a gender reveal party for a baby.

In photos of the event, you can see blue and pink balloons tied down in arches.

The low-key couple’s famous friends and family were pictured arriving at the house as well, with guests including Dakota’s parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, actor Sean Penn, and actress Julia Roberts.

TMZ also reported that the string of blue balloons was eventually released into the air, seemingly indicating that the Coldplay frontman and Fifty Shades actress will be having a boy.

According to Refinery29, the two first sparked relationship rumors when they were spotted on a sushi date back in October 2017. They’ve remained extremely private about their relationship throughout its duration. Dakota’s famous mom was actually the first one to explicitly confirm that the two were together.

“I adore him!” the Oscar-nominated actress told People in May 2018. “But she is very private about her life and I respect that.”

Neither Chris nor Dakota has publicly commented on the relationship, except for the 29-year-old actress’ short, sweet, and to-the-point response when asked about it in a recent interview with Tatler: “I’m not going to talk about it. But I am very happy.”

In 2014, Chris famously “consciously uncoupled” from ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow (who remarried only days ago to Brad Falchuk).
