On LittleThings’ Facebook Live show Slice, we invite the bravest and boldest members of the food industry to take on our “Leftover Makeover Challenge,” in which they must transform leftover food into a completely new dish.

This week, we invited Chef Charles Chen to try his luck with leftover Chinese food. After losing over 100 pounds, Charles decided to share his success with others by way of the kitchen. Charles is the host of the YouTube show #KitchenHustle, where he shows his subscribers how to cook easy, fresh dishes like avocado jicama salad and live a positive, healthy lifestyle. If you want to try Charles’ cooking for yourself, you can check out his pop-up dinners and wellness party!

Today, Charles will have 20 minutes to make a healthy dish from leftover Moo Goo Gai Pan with a side of white rice. In addition to this leftover Chinese food, Charles will have access to pantry staples and fresh produce, including:

  • Onions
  • Peppers
  • Spinach
  • Asparagus
  • Kale
  • Sesame seeds
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Tomatoes

When his 20 minutes are up, the final dish will be critiqued on taste, presentation, and creativity by this week’s judges, Katie Howells, and Claire Matson of the hilarious Instagram @intheservice. Will Charles be able to turn leftover Chinese food into a healthy, new culinary creation?

If you love Charles’ creativity, make sure to SHARE his creation on Facebook!
