Céline Dion is living unapologetically in her truth. The 51-year-old singer is on the verge of releasing her new album, Courage.
She’s also discussing how courage and strength have penetrated every area of her life.
“I think I was always courageous,” Céline told Entertainment Tonight. “I hope it doesn’t sound pretentious to say that, but I always stressed a lot. We always kind of like just do whatever they suggest to me — not that I was a robot or anything, not to sound kind of weird, like, do this do that — but I feel like right now I’m more in charge than ever before and this is definitely a part of my life where the maturity kicks in.”
Céline has been enjoying her time preparing for her world tour. She’s been fearless in her experimentation with fashion, something she credits in part to her best friend and stylist, 34-year-old Pepe Muñoz. Céline has made it clear that the two are just friends. As for finding love again, she said that chapter is “closed, but not dead.” Céline still feels deeply connected to husband René Angélil, who died in 2016 after a battle with throat cancer. The two were married for 21 years.
“Am I going to love again? I am in love, I am in love with my life, I am in love with my children, I’m in love with my work,” she explained. “I love what I do today even more than before. Am I going to have a partner in my life? We’ll stay tuned and if I do, I will share it and it would be a pleasure to share it.”
