There is a reason that the trope about cats chasing mice exists. For some reason, these two species just can’t seem to get along. Sadly, mice are a very easy target for cats.

But in this case, the cat wasn’t actually able to get the mouse. Because he was on TV!

One intrigued kitty was watching television with his human when he realized there was a critter on the TV. His owner’s son was watching Tom and Jerry.

On the show, Tom is a gray domesticated shorthaired cat and Jerry is a small, brown house mouse. The pair is always driving one other to wits’ end. Growing up, you either rooted for Tom to finally catch Jerry or for Jerry to keep tricking Tom.

But this cat, a Scottish fold named Basboos, was clearly on Tom’s side. He was intently watching the TV, and as soon as he noticed Jerry, he got a whole lot closer to the screen. Poor Basboos couldn’t catch him!

While not all cats and mice get along, this one cuddly cat became friends with a mouse after finding him as a baby.
