Dogs are usually the pets credited with saving lives. They’re recruited as K-9 cops because of their powerful sense of smell, and they’ve been known to jump in danger’s way when their owners’ lives are in jeopardy. They can even help heal those suffering from emotional trauma, and they make great therapy pets.

But dogs aren’t the only animals that can help in a dangerous situation. Other species have many virtues and capabilities that can prove to be useful. And if they love their humans, they know how to help them. There are some unusual pets out there, like this therapy turkey, but they are no less valuable. Cats aren’t always the most affectionate creatures out there, but Bob the cat’s family is certain that their spoiled furry friend is looking out for them.

The 7-year-old rescue cat’s behavior is predictable. He knows when to wake up his owners, what kind of food he wants, and that he can hog their bed. But when he started meowing one night and behaving oddly, the couple had no choice but to get out of bed and follow him. They thought that he was hungry, but Bob led them to the garage door. Then, they made a startling discovery behind it.

Now, they’re crediting Bob for saving their lives.
