“Curiosity killed the cat” is a saying for a reason: Cats are naturally very adventurous and independent animals, even though many of us have them as pets at home.

But sometimes, they’re a little too curious and put themselves in sticky situations they can’t get out of. This was the case of one fearless feline who accidentally got her head stuck under a steel door.

It isn’t known how the cat ended up in the vulnerable and frightening position to begin with, but firefighters were called to the scene to assist her.

The rescue had to be done delicately. The firefighters had to be sure to get the cat out safely, which wouldn’t be an easy task considering the tools that had to be used.

Of course, opening the door was out of the question, so they had to chip away at the concrete beneath the door to free her.

In the video below, little by little, the men make a bigger gap under the door so the cat can slip her head through. Just as they make the hole large enough, the poor animal is so scared that she just lies down on the ground!

But as soon as she figures out what’s happening, she manages to slip right out from under the door. She doesn’t stick around to thank the firefighters, giving one of the men quite a fright!
