After Carrie Underwood won the fourth season of American Idol in 2005, she skyrocketed to fame.
To date, the singer has won seven Grammy Awards, eight CMA Awards, 12 American Music Awards, 15 Billboard Music Awards, and 12 ACM Awards.
As if that weren’t enough, she’s also been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry. And she’s only 34 years old!
Carrie loves how supportive her fans are, and she keeps in touch with them via social media. Since November, though, fans have noticed that Carrie has been staying under the radar — and she’s finally revealed why.
The musician wrote in a blog post:
Most of you know that I tripped and fell and broke my wrist in November. I’m still doing regular physical therapy for that, but all is coming along. There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about, since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up.
It’s crazy how a freak accident can change your life. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike that he had put between 40-50 stitches in.
