A bus driver from Milwaukee is being hailed a hero. It wasn’t because of what she did behind the wheel, but what she did outside the bus.

Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver Kaniquka Jackson was progressing through her route when her heroic moment arrived, according to WTMJ Milwaukee.

There was an elderly gentlemen trying to make his way to the bus stop. He was having trouble navigating the heavy mounds of snow while carrying his walker.

Eventually, his attempts to make it to the stop were thwarted. The snowbank proved too tough to climb, and he ended up collapsing.

Kaniquka saw it all. She quickly stopped the bus and rushed outside.

As you’ll see in the video below, the bus driver — with help from the man’s companion — lifted him to his feet. She wrapped an arm around his shoulder and escorted him onto the bus.

“Why don’t you go ahead and have a seat, sir?” she asked. “Are you all right? Does your knee hurt?”

Ever vigilant, the elderly man said he was fine and sat down.

Thanks to Kaniquka’s actions, the man was able to have a comfortable means of travel. Check out the full story in the video below, and please SHARE it on Facebook!
