Fancy ornaments that you buy in the store can make for a truly beautiful Christmas tree, but there’s just nothing like the ones you make yourself!

As a kid, I grew up making most of my ornaments from beads and pipe cleaners, so I have a soft spot for all DIY holiday decorations, from the Christmas angel I made out of acorns as a kid, to these stunning cookie-cutter ornaments with a beautiful, personal touch!

Of course, a DIY craft gets about a million extra points if it’s something that you can easily do with all the kiddos in your life!

Whether it’s your own babies, nieces and nephews, or grandkids, they’ll love this simple-but-dramatic technique for making ornaments out of ordinary crayons!

It’s the perfect way to get rid of all the crumbled old crayons at the bottom of their knapsacks, and they’ll love the spectacular effect that you get when all the crayon bits start to melt!
