Teen Jasmine Elcock Earns The Golden Buzzer For Her Stunning Audition On ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

Jess grew up in Oklahoma before moving to New York to become a writer. She has a cat named Agnes.

As we all know by now, Simon Cowell is not a man who suffers fools when it comes to judging one of his several talent contests.

The stoic music mogul lets you know exactly how he feels when someone braves his stage. That’s what makes it all the more powerful when someone leaves an audition hearing kind words from the hard-to-please judge. Watching Cowell give advice to a someone like the young boy who was bullied for his love of dance or the shy woman conquering her stage fright always leaves you feeling just as inspired as they are.

As the weeks of auditions continue, however, he and the other judges eventually start to feel like they’ve tapped all the talent their country has to offer when they’re left with less-than-stellar hopefuls.

Luckily, they didn’t have to worry about enduring another flop when 14-year-old Jasmine Elcock arrived to show off her singing skills.

Tackling Cher’s 1998 hit “Believe,” Jasmine slows the tempo down to a ballad as her vocals effortlessly capture the emotional lyrics. It doesn’t take long for the audience, judges, and hosts waiting with her dad backstage to find themselves tearing up at her rendition. As she makes her way to the chorus, even Cowell gives the panel a look that clearly says, “Wow, this kid is spectacular.”

Take a look below to hear Jasmine’s incredible performance and see the moment she nabs the coveted golden buzzer.
